Randy's Barn through the bedroom window

Following yesterday’s painting (view it at Creative Color), I awoke with the urge to drastically simplify the scene.  I reached for the closest fountain pen.  The sun’s movement higher into the sky allowed little time for squiggles.  The pen responded to my quick strokes and soon enough I found myself in a pleasant rhythm, making marks and viewing the landscape.  Tomorrow morning I will try a medium nib pen rather than the fine nib pen (Parker 21) I used for this drawing.  Though I prefer the fine nib I want to keep pushing myself out of the comfort zone and acquire skill with the tools I am least comfortable with.
