Playful marks.

I give myself permission to take the time to study trees with intensity.  It’s a shame I don’t allow myself the same amount of time to simply play with watercolor, allowing the suggestion of trees to float around in my brain as inspiration rather than reality.  I prefer the results of playful marks and spots of color in unexpected places to carefully rendered depictions of objects.  One might ask why I keep returning to realistic studies.  I ask myself that question every day.
