The fruit of the wild persimmon tree is deliciously sweet at this time of year.
Tom and I drove south for a short visit with friends in Maryland. I usually travel down alone during the summer months to spend three or four days painting en plein air from Dave and Anita’s screened in porch. The mosquitoes get the better of me if I dare to paint outside of the screens.
October is definitely a better time to paint along the Wicomico River. Not a mosquito in sight! Trying not to be anti-social on a short visit, I only took time for this quick pencil sketch and another very quick value sketch of the juniper trees to the left of the wild persimmon.
