Here’s another pen and ink drawing from Tuesday night’s Blues Jam.

The Horn Section, Don, Joe, Wayne and George

I rarely use my fountain pen when I’m painting to live music.  I love the variation of line and the occasional drips and plops of ink that happens when I use a dip pen.  As much as I love the excitement of adding color, perhaps I will stick to pen and ink for the next couple of weeks to see what sort of evolution takes place in the ink drawings that I generally consider to be the skeleton of the watercolor painting.  The watercolor often bleeds with the ink and the strength of the line itself is lost.
