This is the piece that created air bubbles in the oil line leading to the oil burner. Air bubbles caused the loud, irritating noise.
There are hundreds if not thousands of consumers who, like us, were talked into spending more money to purchase the Roth Double Wall Oil Tank rather than the standard stainless steel tank. Bad decision. I’ve been told that Roth now sells the tanks with the top conversion unit instead of their original piece (drawn above) that caused oil flow problems.
The conversion unit solved both the oil flow and the noise problem. We love sleeping through the cold nights without being awakened by our oil tank.
